Contemporary Kitchen With Natural Elements
Brilliant Decor Idea!
A contemporary kitchen with some interestingly different features forms the hub of this family home.
The first thing to grab your attention is the island bench, where a stacked stone feature wall envelops its facade. On top, the white stone surface is the perfect reflector of the three pendant lights that hang in symmetry above. What is unique about the island is its shape; being almost square affords the kitchen with extra work room and allows for the accomodation of plenty of storage and shelving where brightly coloured cookbooks can be lovingly displayed.
Running in an L-shape behind the island is sleek white joinery incorporating a sink, cook top, range hood and integrated dishwasher. A large, double-door fridge completes the suite of high-end appliances. Handleless drawers extend even into the corners for absolute maximization of storage space below the counters, which are backed by a sandy coloured glass splash back ( backsplash ). Running along the base of the cabinets and acting as a connection between the light joinery surfaces and the rich timber floors are stainless steel kick boards. A discrete door opens to a walk-in pantry.
Behind the bench tops are neat windows, one with louvers to allow the light tropical breezes in and the warm air out. Lush green palms are framed by the windows, acting to bring the natural surrounds in.
Adjacent to the kitchen is a weathered Jarrah outdoor dining table that has been brought inside. Its light, natural tones and textures are the perfect compliment to the kitchen’s stone island feature.
